Church Matters: The Gospel-Transformed Community
In our sermon series, Chelten’s DNA, we explore who we are as a church and why it matters. We don’t exist for ourselves. We exist to worship the triune God (Upward), to care and nurture each other in truth and love (Inward), and to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the world (Outward).
In this sermon pastor Jin focuses on the second and inward part of Chelten’s mission, nurture. In Acts 2 we see three characteristics of a gospel-transformed community. People in the early church were DEVOTED TO THE GOSPEL AND TO EACH OTHER. They were MARKED BY FREQUENT GATHERING AND MUCH CARING. And they were DEEPLY COMMITTED TO UNITY AND PEACEMAKING. Centered on belief in a crucified and resurrected messiah, this diverse covenant community had grown together to form a flourishing “us” that enjoyed the favor of all people.
